Richard Dowd, President of Dowd Associates Executive Search, Recognized by the Ilias Kementzidis Music Scholarship Fund

NORWALK, CT June 11, 2012 – Richard Dowd, President of Dowd Associates Executive Search, was recently presented with the Friend of Music award by the Ilias Kementzidis Scholarship Fund, an organization whose purpose is to inspire and educate high school music students. The award is given annually and recognizes the recipients for their generosity and continuing support of the scholarship fund. Ilias Kementzidis was an extraordinary musician who performed traditional Pontic Greek Music on the Lyra. He was a 1989 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts’ National Heritage Fellowship Award. He performed at the Smithsonian Institution’s Festival of American folk life, the National Council for the Traditional Arts; National Folk Festival, and numerous events for the Ethnic Folk Arts Center. The Ilias Kementzidis Music Fund Sponsors partners in music education, aimed at making a positive impact in the lives of high school students.

Richard Dowd was recently presented with the award at a reception following the 6th Annual Ilias Kementzidis Music Fund Scholarship Charity Golf Tournament. “I am proud to have had an opportunity to contribute and have an impact on this wonderful organization,” said Dowd. “I look forward to continuing on our mission of furthering the education of young music students in Mr. Kementzidis’ name.”
